Cornstarch Walk on Water
I've lost my mind! I'm teaching Vacation Bible School next week, and this is one of our activities. Should be interesting. We'll see what happens, check back for more details!
We did this last week and used a wider container--a plastic storage container about 2 1/2' wide and about 3- 3 1/2' long, you know like the ones you store your sweaters in for the winter or wrapping paper. It worked great and there was less chance of hitting the edge when running. It's so cool to see the kids run over it but when they stopped they sank and got goopy. It's a terrific illustration of keeping our eyes on Jesus so we don't sink. Let me encourage you to do this outside. We did it in a classroom and even though the floor was covered with plastic, it still spashed cornstarch yuck everywhere. Have fun! We did!
